MIX – LIGHTHOUSE

I have previously blogged about the MIX Artists “LightHouse” exhibition that I was involved in – that was a part of the PIAF (Perth International Arts Festival) Visual Arts Program for the Great Southern Festival (now that’s a mouthful!).

A few weekends back – we were very fortunate to have the PIAF Visual Arts Program Manager – Margaret Moore – down in Albany to visit us during our ‘artist talks’. I also was commissioned by MIX to officially record the exhibition. It’s all been pulled down now – so this blog post is a little late – but here is the work I exhibited….

Working to the theme of “LightHouse”, I was interested in exploring the cyclical and transient nature of the lighthouse’s sweeping beam and how it ordinarily leaves no mark as it revolves. I drew on these notions to create a series of photographic images that provide a record of permanency, capturing light and the movement of light.

The work is available for purchase @ $250.00 each or $700.00 for a set of 3.

Please note that these images are limited editions of 5.

Tash Rolfe - I really think you achieved what you hoped to with this exhibition Meleah. The movement is very evident and I think choosing frames that circle the photos was a very good choice.
