SCRATCHED

The day I took Scratched was momumental in the process of finding my own photographic style. It was a day that I threw caution to the wind and traditional photography techniques out the window. I started to experiment with long shutter speeds and movement of the camera. What if I did this? How about I change that? There is something gratifying in working with your camera in ‘manual’ and taking back the control – visualising what it is you want as an image and then going about creating it. I still remember the excitement of that day and the anticipation of many more creative days ahead of me as I finally had started to create my style and know where I wanted to take my photography.

Australia Day, January 26th 2008 – I was just beginning to scratch the surface……
